This lab provides an opportunity for experienced Exchange administrators to configure and validate some of the new features in Exchange Server 2010. This lab provides a brief exposure to some of the most important new features and new administration tools in Exchange Server 2010.

Windows Server 2003 or 2008 including directory services. Windows XP or Vista and Office/Outlook. Windows-based mobile devices and mobile Office/Outlook. Asynchronous networking technologies including TCP/IP, messaging transports, remote access, VPNs. Storage and Storage Area Networks (SANs), clustering, load balancing. Basic virtualization concepts (e.g. VMWare and basic awareness of Hyper-V) but are not experienced with the details of Windows Server Hyper-V. General IT operations concepts and procedures including service level management, high availability and disaster recovery, and change management.

This hands-on lab shows how to configure and evaluate the new client access features in Exchange Server 2010, configure and evaluate the new messaging policy and compliance features in Exchange Server 2010, and configure and test the new message transport features in Exchange Server 2010. It also shows how to configure and test the new high availability features in Exchange Server 2010, as well as how to administer Exchange Server 2010 using the new administration tools and features.
